Nagano, Day 2
After awakening from a sound night of sleep, we took one more dip in the outdoor onsen (ahhhhh) and then took a short walk around the scenic grounds of our hotel.
We then enjoyed an all-you-can-eat breakfast before packing up and heading out of the hotel.
After that, we headed out for the day's activities. I liked Takinoyu pretty well.
We came across a spot for admiring the stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
After continuing further, we walked along a street near our final destination that led to a nearby lake.
Our actual destination was a nearby mountainside "farm," a free attraction that had a few animals to gawk at and pet. It was considerably smaller than I'd expected but was free.
On our way back to Chino, we stopped for lunch at a rustic restaurant named Potato:
And then we headed back to town to end our trip:
I really had a blast. It was great driving through the Japanese countryside again and I'm thrilled to reconnect with old friends and to make an awesome new one also. The weather really couldn't have been better either. I hope we'll be able to do it again. (That is apparently the plan.)
