Toshinobu Kubota, Kohmi Hirose, and MISIA--pretty much my big three artists in the world of modern Japanese pop, who have proven themselves such that I'll practically buy anything with their names on it that is reasonably priced (read: fairly cheap). I already have most of this music, but I wanted the actual CDs as well since I ran into them and they were only 200 yen each. Man, I miss buying (good!) used CDs and manga in Japan for dirt cheap.
Twitter can be good for some bite-sized Japanese reading. I enjoy 毎日新聞's 編集部 Twitter page myself. Short posts with a good chunk of vocabulary too. And that コッコ is just so darn informative and cute! (I'm open to any other suggestions too.)
This is a silly little story about a terrible pun that I made the other day when my good friend Xin made dinner for me and I turned umai, a word meaning "delicious," into the exclamation "uumaigod!" Maybe I should write her a formal apology for that one.
And that concludes the story of "Why Jon doesn't have a girlfriend." :-P
